COVER SKETCH

I dunno about you guys, but i love seeing layouts and thumbnails on artists' blogs. If ye don't want to see them, let me know and i'll stop posting them.

Anyhoo, this is a thumbnail to a cover i was asked to draw recently. I was given some elements to be included in the image and came up with the above. In the end, some changes had to be made so i had to come up with a whole new layout, but i quite liked this sketch as it is, so up on the blog it goes. What blog you ask...? This blog ......the one you're reading right now.

I'll post the finished piece once i get the okay.

I like how the white silhouette acts as a frame inside the frame. Strong overall composition. Layouts are good for other illustrators to mull over so I'd keep posting them.

This is also a great comp. Kind've a pity they made you change it, but the finished one is just as good I think.

I like your drawing style. You are really talented :-)

Maby you like to upload some of your work to the comic community I programmed together with other artists
www.toonsup.com

Its completely free, just driven by artists and very active.

There are a lot of people around, who like to improve their skills and talk about their work.
I think you would perfectly fit in there.

Greetings,

Hey Dec,

Your stuff is looking great, as regards your previous post of spending all day drawing pretty ladies, well you've come along way from the days spent serving some pretty ladies in medieval costumes. should have brought the sketch pad to work & saved yourself all this time !

As to insulting women being your weakness, well take consolation from not being the one responsible for the "is that a button to turn you on" remark ! you could only hope to come up with a line that good !!!
